<![CDATA[IceWarp Support]]> <![CDATA[Kaspersky: Messages Stop Being Processed By SMTP]]> We have discovered that Kaspersky changed the antivirus engine and does not respect the old engine when pushing new updates to IceWarp Server.

This may lead to conflicts between the update data and the old engine which can cause the SMTP module to stop processing messages.

This problem may affect IceWarp Server for Windows 10.3.x and older (there are separate patches for different verions bellow). Version 10.4.0 and higher do not have this problem.

This problem affects all versions of IceWarp Server for Linux.

 

Workaround

1. Download the new antivirus engine from the link below.

2. Stop the SMTP module

3. Delete the Kaspersky folder in the IceWarp Server install folder and replace it with this new one.

4. Start the SMTP module.

5. Go to the IceWarp Administration console - Antivirus - General and click update now.

Once the new update is applied your system will function normally again.  We apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused you.

]]> <![CDATA[The setup hangs on Directory Cache populating]]> Please follow this workaround in the case if the installation process hangs on creation of Directory Cache database. Unfortunately, there is a conception problem with upgrades from older versions, because of changes in db.dll.Directory Cache is populated before the installation starts therefore it uses the old db.dll instead of the new one.

Workaround:
1. obtain new db.dll from the installer - links are bellow. If you are going to upgrade your server to 32-bit IceWarp Server 10.4.5 download db.dll-icewarp10.4.5-32bit.zip, if to IceWarp Server 64-bit download db.dll-icewarp10.4.5-64bit.
2.stop all services
3. backup db.dll, replace it with the new one
4. start the installer, let the Directory Cache population start
5. do not wait for the population to be finished
6. restore the original db.dll (only the installer is going to use the new dll)
7. start all services.

Optionally, you can skip steps 2 and 7 (because dll can be renamed even if it is used)

]]> <![CDATA[Upgrading to 64-bit IceWarp Messaging Server]]> General Requirements

Make sure that all web server extensions are set to FastCGI in IceWarp Administration Console - Web - Default - Scripting.

 

Upgrading MSSQL Setup

1. It is necesary to configure both instances of Microsoft Data Access (64-bit and 32-bit odbcad32.exe) with the same System DSN.

2. Navigate to Windows/SysWOW64 run odbcad32.exe and check your current System DSN settings.

3. Navigate to Windows/System32 run odbcad32.exe and set up exactly the same System DSN as the one above.

4. Run the upgrade process to 64-bit IceWarp Messaging Server.

5. Use IceWarp Administrator Console to test connection to all the databases (Accounts, Groupware, Antispam).

6. Log into WebClient to see if everything works correctly. Check Contacts (Groupware) and Blacklist & Whitelist (Antispam) functionality.

 

Upgrading MySQL Setup

1. Copy 64-bit libmysql.dll to Windows folder. Link to the 64-bit libmysql.dll (MySQL 5.5) is bellow.

2. Make sure there IS NOT 32-bit libmysql in Windows/System32.

3. Make sure there IS 32-bit libmysql.dll in Windows/SysWOW64. Link to the 32-bit libmysql.dll (MySQL 5.5) is bellow.

4. Run the upgrade process to 64-bit IceWarp Messaging Server. 

5. Use IceWarp Administrator Console to test connection to all the databases (Accounts, Groupware, Antispam).

6. If you use MySQL also for WebClient cache and you are not able to log into IceWarp WebClient copy the 32-bit libmysql.dll also to folder IceWarp/PHP.

]]> <![CDATA[Vulnerabilities in IceWarp Server 10.4.5]]> We have been recently reported about vulnerabilities in IceWarp Server 10.4.5. There have been 2 types of potential issues: 1. the more problematic one (but quite difficult to misuse) in html/rpc scripts - potential attacker may get content of a file on a server providing that he would know path to that file. 2. cross-site scripting (XSS) in WebClient Tablet interface + in public calendar (html/webmail/calendar) - this one has smaller impact as potential attacker would have to send malformatted URL pointing to webmail that would execute some javascript code only if user opens that URL. 
Workaround
Customers who already run IceWarp Server 10.4.5 may simply extract following patch over the [icewarp]/html folder to replace problematic scripts: http://www.icewarp.com/download/patches/10.4.5/html.zip
Customers on older versions are strictly recommended to upgrade to IceWarp Server 10.4.5-1 - the installers at http://www.icewarp.com/downloads/ have already been repacked with the patched scripts.
