I Got 'Could not connect to mail server' Error Sent via WebMail
Solution

You tried to send a message via WebMail but you got the error

WebMail - Could Not Connect To Mail Server

These are 3 possible causes:

1. You have incorrectly configured your Outgoing Mail Server

To check for this error, log onto WebMail with an admin level account and go to Settings - Administrator Settings

Check you settings for Outgoing Mail Server. By default this is set to localhost, which assumes your Webmail Server is running on the same machine as your Icewarp Email Server. If you are running Webmail on a different server or you are using IP binding for domains then you should update e this setting with the IP address to match your installation.

2. Your SMTP Service is stopped

The SMTP service must be running for Webmail to work correctly. This can be checked, and started in System -> Services in the Icewarp Administration Console.

General Tab - List of Services

3. The SMTP port is blocked

Check you Firewall and Router configurations to ensure that your SMTP port is not blocked in any way.

The default port for SMTP is 25 but you may have changed it in your installation.
